A prostate diagram can help you get a greater understanding of the prostate gland and it’s various functions.
The prostate gland is the center of the urinary tract and connects to your urethra, bladder, and seminal vesicles.
They all originate from your prostate gland.
If your prostate; becomes enlarged (aka Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)), develops prostatitis, or cancer then problems may arise when passing fluids through your prostate gland.
These can usually be detected by a PSA test and digital rectal exam (DRE)
Prostate cancer is also more likely to spread to these surrounding areas during it’s later stages.
A closer view of the ducts surrounding the prostate can be seen in the diagram to your left.
You can see the tubes going through the prostate. Any inflammation or growths will impair your prostate’s function.
